I was injured at work last November. I had surgery this past March to repair my right ankle, but haven’t worked since just before the surgery. I had to request a new doctor after the other said I would be full duty even though I had concerns about ongoing pain and issues. The new doctor says my injury is definitely not repaired and that I will need surgery again.
I was last paid the beginning of October for the end of September. I have not received any income since then and I am on a a ‘no work’ status currently. I have retained an attorney, but she is having a hard time with the insurance as well. I have a hearing scheduled in January about them not paying me, but the only income has been my mother’s social security in October and November. She is also trying to appeal her disability denial, so neither of us can work right now.
We currently owe the landlords $2322.10 as of today, including court fees. I haven’t received the paperwork yet, but the hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday according to the office. I’ve never been evicted before and I’m not sure how it works. The office manager said that we can do a post-judgement payment plan but we will be evicted if we miss a payment. My mother’s SS is our only guarenteed income at this time. We’ve lived in this same apartment for almost 9 years now.
Our new food stamps amount, with me not getting paid, doesn’t start until December 8th. We’re not starving, but I’m not sure if we have enough for until then. I haven’t had health insurance since April and can’t afford my meds. I can’t get ahold of DES to ask about AHCCCS. We were forced to let my car get repossessed in September, but I can’t drive right now anyway. All of our credit cards are maxed and past due. We have maybe $100 in the bank right now until mid-December. I’ve tried everywhere I can for help but I know a lot of people are going through especially hard times right now. I really just want to make sure my mom and my cat are warm and safe. I’m younger and can figure something else out. Thank you for reading this.
