Help My Son Collin Fight Epilepsy -reaching out as a desperate Mother

Help My Son Collin Fight Epilepsy – We’re Struggling to Keep Going

My name is Liezl van der Linde, and I am reaching out as a heartbroken mother, desperate for help for my precious son, Collin.

Collin lives with epilepsy, and every seizure he experiences is far more than just a medical emergency; it’s an agonizing moment that turns our world upside down. Watching him lose control of his body, helpless and in pain, time and again, is a sorrowful burden that no parent should have to bear. Each episode brings an overwhelming wave of fear: Will he come out of this one okay? Will this change him forever?

The emotional toll is not the only heavy weight we carry; epilepsy has plunged our family into a devastating financial struggle. We are drowning in the costs of hospital visits, specialist appointments, emergency care, medication, and ongoing therapies. Each treatment is essential, but we often find ourselves forced to choose between meeting his medical needs and covering necessities like rent, food, and transportation.

I’ve missed countless days of work to care for Collin, and our savings have vanished. We have fought tirelessly, but we have now reached a point where we cannot continue this battle alone. Adding to our distress, I am currently in debt review due to overwhelming financial burdens and losing my job.

This is why I am humbly reaching out to you.

If you can contribute anything, even the smallest amount, you will be making a profound difference in a child’s life. Your support will go directly toward:

– Collin’s epilepsy medication: $10,000.00

– Specialist consultations and follow-ups: $2,000.00

– Emergency care and transport: $2,000.00

– Basic needs so we can care for him full-time: $7,000.00

I understand that many families face hardships, and asking for help is never easy. However, I am setting aside my pride because my son’s health is more important than anything else. Please help us keep Collin safe and give him the chance at a life free from the grasp of fear and pain.

From the depths of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read this, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping us hold on.

With gratitude and hope,

Desperate Mother Liezl van der Linde
