I am a single mother who recently had to leave my job in April 2025 due to health issues involving the location. Having never struggled to find a job previously, I wasn’t worried about finding new employment in my field (Risk Management). I also had received some money when I left since I had some tenured time at my job.
It is now November, and although I have received a lot of offers for employment from large companies, (examples: DHL, RunBuggy Inc, etc), all have fallen through due to criminal history from 7+ years ago. I’m applying to even fast food now, and may have gotten a part-time job that will hopefully start soon.
I’ve barely managed to scrape together money for our rent ($1300) until now, and my car is about to be repossessed more than likely within the next 2 days, as I owe $1232.00. My car insurance has lapsed, as I am two months behind, totaling $480.00, and I’m barely keeping the electricity on and water flowing.
My oldest son (20) moved out when he found work a few towns away & closer to his girlfriend’s house, so he moved in with her. My youngest son, who turns 17 in a week or two, has also been searching for employment, and doesn’t mind doing manual labor. But we are both falling short.
I’m about to lose our car, and then our home, and I feel so hopeless. We don’t really have any family, and the little bit we do, we do not have much contact with if any due to different reasons. (distance, substance use, etc). My son’s Dad lives out of state, several states away, and does not have the desire to have his son there, and my son does not want to leave me in this situation alone.
Really, I’m asking for any assistance of any kind that anyone can spare.. I feel like my whole life is falling apart, and the final clock is ticking.. I don’t know what we are going to do..
