I’m reaching out with a heavy heart this Christmas. My boys, 15 and 16, lost their grandfather this year — a Vietnam veteran who passed from cancer connected to his service. He was the only real father figure they had and helped us keep our home. Since losing him, things have been incredibly hard emotionally and financially.
I’m doing everything I can to hold our family together while managing my mental health, but we don’t qualify for Christmas assistance because of their ages. They try to find jobs to help me, even though I don’t want them carrying that burden — I just want them to finish school and have a chance at a better future.

Right now, I’m simply in need of a few gifts to put under the tree so they can feel a little joy again after such a painful year. Any help, big or small, would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading, and may your holidays be filled with love and kindness.
