Hello, 3 days ago I took emergency custody of my two nephews that were taken from my brother and his wife. The boys came from Indiana and they came with barely any clothes that does not fit them properly and torn shoes. Children Services has not been much help because I am from Ohio. I’m sure they will help at one point but they said it can take several weeks. I have two children of my own and I have already bought their Christmas gifts. I desperately need help getting the boys Christmas gifts they are 7 and 9.
what these kids have been through is so sad. The social worker told me there was no food in the home they did not have beds , they did not have any toys. The boys told me they have not had a Christmas in years that they can remember. I feel so bad because I lost contact with him years ago and was not able to find them until social social services found me. I was already having a hard time financially but, I was not gonna say no they cannot come here. I will do whatever it takes to make these boys feel safe and be in a healthy home. I want to make this a fresh loving start for them. I have girls so I couldn’t share their clothes with them. I am working to get them enrolled in school now. What they have been through no child should ever go through. I feel so bad I was not there to protect them, but I’m here now. I will fight for them. I have called so many social services around my area, but they are no longer helping with Christmas. I would love to be able to get help and show these boys they do have support and things will be okay. I can’t go into all the detail because of the circumstances behind why they was taken, but if you like any more information, please feel free to reach out to me.
