Tired mama trying not to drown!

NORTH CAROLINA / Posted 27 seconds ago by 622475 / New

I want to start this post by sending out massive gratitude and love to the founders, volunteers, and donors of this site that make such a huge difference in people’s lives every single day! Even if my post isn’t chosen to be helped, I just wanted you all to know that you are awesome!!! ❤️

I know this is a long shot asking for help this so close to Christmas, but I thought someone was already set to help out but that fell thru, so now I will not be able to get my 16 yr old son with autism anything at all for Christmas and that breaks my heart! He really does deserve a good Christmas because I am rarely able to buy him anything beyond bare necessities and he doesn’t have anything but super old or 2nd hand items on their last legs to have fun with.

I recently lost my job and I was already not able to pay all the monthly bills before I lost it so now I am drowning in stress and really close to being evicted as well as losing my car. I am 3 months behind on the rent and a month and a half behind on my car payment and those are just the highest priority bills due since I currently have payment arrangements for the lights and water that prevent them from being cut off. I just had to pay over $400 to get my car fixed a couple of weeks ago and it is now having an issue with RPM idling too high and it also has something going on that is causing it to run horribly and cut off randomly, so I have to get that fixed asap so that I can have reliable transportation to a new job and won’t miss more work. I have to drive a good bit away to get to decent paying delivery jobs that I can work on the days that my health will let me.

Between the 3 members of my household, 2 have permanent disabilities and I have serious health issues and we have a lot of Dr appointments that cannot be missed. Right now, we only have SSI and disability income for my son and my ex brother in law that I care for who is developmentally delayed and lives with me. That does not stretch nearly enough to even cover half of the bills.

To give you a little background, here is some info so you can know a little bit about the strangers you may end up helping. Fair warning, I am the queen of TMI, so I apologize in advance! 😁

I am a single mama raising a 16 yr old son who has autism, along with other related issues that he struggles with daily. He no longer has any friends in our neighborhood due to them all moving away and him having to be homeschooled for the past few years, so he uses his (extremely loud and near death) PS4 to connect with others his age and socialize as much as his anxiety allows. As early as the time he was in my womb, my son has never had an easy life. He was born early and had a lot of hurdles from the get go. His father disappeared when I was 8 months pregnant and has never acknowledged he even has a son at all. Even with all that life has dealt onto our family, my son is still a sweet, caring and goofy jokester that I am so very proud of!

I really just want to be able to catch up on some of my bills to give me a little breathing room from losing everything and also hopefully be able to have something for my son to be able to open on Christmas morning. I would be seriously grateful for any help at all and appreciate anything anyone may be able to do! I hope you all have an awesome holiday and new year!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
