Feeling silly about asking for help when I see so many in need. I’m currently residing with my elderly parents who are on a fixed income and have extensive medical needs. I had to leave my entire life behind back in the Midwest due to fracturing my back working at a state prison as a corrections officer. I have lost my career, my other two jobs, my home, my car and my life as I knew it for 22 years. I’m currently in litigation for the sustained work injury, which has been going on for a year and half. They refused to pay work compensation benefits and dropped my health care. I had no choice to retreat to Arizona and with the impending financial hardship and wanted to assist my parents in their medical care needs. I have not been released to work however and have no income. Despite not being fully medically released, I’m applying to jobs (not in corrections) and would very much like to work so I can begin crawling out of the financial despair. I’m in need of help in any transportation assistance so I can have purpose again in working and providing. I have never received any child support or government assistance through state resources and because I refused to take child support I was denied any benefits. Extremely hard to be in a state of limbo and not have the slightest idea or means to start over. I will persevere but I’m desperate yet determined to get through this and rebuild.
