Christmas during hardship
MISSISSIPPI / by 508596 / New
Hello volunteers, I’m very new to this. I don’t know exactly what to put, this is my first time feeling the need to reach out for help in these times.
My husband and I live a quiet life. We work, farm/garden(homestead), and raise 3 children together, trying our best. Recently, my husband lost his job, relying on my part time job to make ends meet, only able to meet necessities. Luckily, he has secured a new job and has started working again. We are still waiting for his paycheck, the usual waiting period when starting a new job, biweekly pay. I’m stretched thin, I’m able to pay our bills. We will be able to catch back up soon. The only thing I fear is that I’m not able to provide gifts for my children. They are very appreciative and I wish they didn’t know the reality of struggling, but they do. If anything, I wish for them to actually be surprised and excited.
My oldest is about to be 12, he is autistic, I try not to lead with that as a opener. It’s my son’s wish for that not be the first thing someone knows about him, I try to respect that. He is really into anything pokemon, Super Mario bros, plushies, anything gaming theme.
My middle, she is 9. Complete girlie girl, she wants anything that’s self-care, cute decor, hair accessories, anything along the lines of expressing herself and learning how to do so.
My youngest is 5, he will be 6 in December. He has struggled with tongue surgeries and has a speech impediment, but that does not stop him at all from being a rambunctious, happy little boy. He loves to be outside, he loves tractors and riding bikes. He really likes monster trucks and remote control cars.
We really appreciate anything and everything, even just the thoughts and prays to making it through this holiday season.
Thank you.
