Hello, my name is Nikki and I have two toddlers. A 3 yr old boy and a 4 yr old girl. They are both diagnosed autistic, the highest level, and unfortunately with afrid (food advoidant). My son was born with water on the brain, though we didn;t know until he was four months old. No doctors caught it until we had to see a random doctor because ours was out of the clinic that day.
They have both been in multiple therapies since they were six months old. Therapies like OT, Speech, Feeding Therapy, ABA, Play Therapy, etc. They’ve come so far. You can’t even tell they would have ever needed any of those therapies.
Now on to why I am here,
This year didn’t go as planned. I was working two jobs until end of October. When I was let go from both…one with no pay for the last two months I worked (October&September). The other only paid me $92, even though I worked a full 65+ hours Monday-Sunday.
I guess leaving was coming anyways…because I’ve been diagnosed with ALS, dementia, and focal sezuires, and I’m about 70% paralyzed, though I’m still walking but only by sheer will. For them. That diagnosis was April of last year.
Where’s dad? Where’s family? Where’s friends?
Dad is gone. He died saving us when our two story house collapsed in 2023. From a head injury that he didn’t know he had, or that he pushed through to help us. No, the management company didn’t care, no there was no “sueing”. Neither of us had family, no neighbors, no friends. It was just us.
Now it’s just me and my babies.
I pay for their therapies out of pocket and their special diets. But that savings is going fast and I can’t give them a Christmas. It may be my last with them. I also have no car (I sold it to pay for their needs, and I can’t drive anymore anyways). I can’t “meet” anywhere as I am homebound now.
