Hello. I am posting here in hopes to get help with Christmas presents for my children and grandchildren this year. Since November of last last year our family has experienced some of the worst hardships of our lives and due to these circumstances we’ve struggled to get by financially. We’re blessed on the months when we are able to get all of the bills paid on time and still have money for food. Other months we have to choose food over our bills just to make sure that we can stay alive. We almost lost my oldest son’s life after he had a horrendous car accident from seizing at the wheel last November and suffered a brain hemorrhage. He was diagnosed with a rare genetic brain disease called cavernous malformations, that he inherited from me, and had to get emergency surgery to remove the bleeding brain tumor. He has struggled to get back to work to help provide for his 2 children let alone to even help me. He is not my 1st child that was diagnosed with these cavernous malformations. My youngest daughter has gone through 2 brain surgeries since 2020 and has also suffered a stroke. From these incident my children’s doctor’s have suggested that I got my other children genetic testing to see if they suffer from this brain disease as well. As of May 2024, my 2nd son was also diagnosed with these cavernous malformations. This past October he was hospitalized for having fell down the stairs due to him suffering from seizures. He broke his nose and from hitting his head his brain is bleeding. The doctor’s will not do surgery on his bleeding brain tumor due to the location of it on his brain. He has had no choice but to be put on seizure meds and he cannot work or drive for the next month. This leaves me to pay all of our bills and I’m on disability which isn’t much income at all. This past October SSI has also cut my youngest daughter’s disability check for to them feeling that they’ve over paid us. We don’t have much family to turn to and their father passed away in 2016. I honestly wish that our circumstances were just a made up nightmare some days but we are definitely going through these hardships and I feel worthless some days for the fact that I can’t fix their diagnoses and that I can’t always provide for all of them. I don’t ask for sympathy because we are a strong family. I am sharing our story in hopes to get a little bit of help for the holidays. My children’s ages are 19 (Son), 18 (Son), 16 (Daughter), 15 (Daughter), 14 (Son), 13 (Son), 2 (Grandson), 1 (Grandson). Even prayers we’d greatly appreciate! Happy Holidays and God bless.
