Hi I’m Bree. I’m reaching out with humility and urgency because I need help holding my life together at the moment.
A couple of months ago, I experienced my first layoff. I’ve been actively applying, training, and taking on every side gig, I can, but times are still tight. Last week, my car stopped working and I had it towed to a nearby shop to get an estimate. The bill for repairs, plus towing, is more than I can afford, and the shop is charging storage fees while the repairs remain unpaid. I’m now at risk of losing not only my car, which is my primary means of generating income and getting to interviews and essentially securing a stable job (I’ve conducted five interviews within the last few days)—but also possibly missing my move-out deadline at the end of December without my vehicle.
This isn’t about wanting luxuries; it’s about staying able to work and keep a roof over my head. I’ve cut every expense. I’ve sold what I can, reached out to charities, and applied for every emergency program I could find. I’m still short.
I’m asking for $500 to cover:
-
Mechanical repairs and parts — $300
-
Towing and storage fees accrued — $200
If you donate:
-
I will send the mechanic’s estimate and the paid receipts once the funds are applied.
-
I’ll provide updates at least until the situation is resolved.
- I can even pay you back once I get paid from my accepted job (Can provide offer letter acceptance date and pay schedule)
I’m not asking because I’ve given up — I’m asking because I’m trying to prevent a temporary hardship from becoming permanent. Thank you for your time, your compassion, and anything you can do.
With gratitude,
Bree
