Desperate need for last minute Christmas assistance

ILLINOIS / Posted 3 weeks ago by 192413

This year has been incredibly hard for my family. We’re currently facing eviction and dealing with landlord issues, which means every dollar we have is going toward court costs and saving up to move. Because of this, we simply can’t afford any Christmas gifts for our daughters, who are 7 and 8 years old. We signed up for a holiday program hoping it would help, but the support was minimal—just a doll, a pair of shoes, an art kit, a throw blanket, and a small pack of socks. It breaks my heart to see the hope in my daughters’ eyes, knowing there will be almost nothing under the tree this year. If I had known the program wouldn’t be able to help more, I would have tried to find another way much sooner, but now the deadlines have passed and Christmas is just days away.
