I have never done this sort of thing before, but it is my last resort to save our family from poverty and unfair accusations and incarceration. I know the amount being requested is a significant amount, but I will explain further on. . I pray that somebody will hear our story, so here it goes. My husband is incarcerated here in Montana and held at the hands of Montana Probation and Parole. Probation and parole can be an absolute nightmare. The majority of the work probation officers are supposed to do here is social work and working to rehabilitate our probation and parolees. Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case and about half of the officer’s work more on a law officer type of basis, where probation and parolees are looked at as nothing more than criminals and they are the law. My guess is they set out on this job from the beginning, with an already biased opinion and what they think of these guys probably isn’t going to change. Unfortunately, my husband got a probation officer that is this way. One of the most concerning problems is that my husband has mental health issues. It usually isn’t anything that is too alarming but the issues he does have causes him to have trouble navigating everyday tasks. Also, from time to time, he gets paranoid delusions and when that happens it can be mild or send us on a roller coaster ride of events and Me, and my children patiently stand by and help ease him through the incredibly real, make-believe world he enters into. Never has my husband ever been violent with me or any of our kids. Infact, he is the absolute opposite of that, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner. He is also an incredible father, and his children absolutely adore him, and he as well adores his children also. We have 4 all together. a 14 yr. old, 10, 5, and 10month old.
My husband was prescribed a new medication that did not sit well with him, and he was having some pretty horrific side effects. One of which was making delusions worse, but he was blacking out and did not remember parts of his days. He reported this to his probation officer and health officials and was told by both to continue taking them, and he did. It was not good. There was a day that he spent wandering the town and I had not a clue of his whereabouts and also could not get a hold of him. Later that evening at about 11:30 pm I decide to look at the jail roster and there he is and was booked just minutes before with a ticket for obstructing a police officer, a charge for which he does not remember but later learns that it was for not giving his name when asked. This was a misdemeanor offense. What is devastating is that this all happened on September 22, and he is still sitting in jail. This is where the probation officer becomes inhumane and decides to keep him in jail with a $75,000 bond and a petition to revoke his probation and recommendations of 6 years in the state prison. This is unheard of to me, unnecessary and just plain cold hearted. He also has a whole list of petty little violations on this petition with false claims to my husband’s character, one of which he is incredibly violent and has a criminal mentality and that he is verbally abusive, the list goes on. This is not my husband or his character that this man is describing, and he wants to put him away from his family for a misdemeanor obstructing ticket for not giving his name.
I am beside myself with this and don’t know how I am going to survive financially without my husband’s income. I need him home and don’t have the amount of money it will cost to bond him out of jail. The cost of his bond with a bondsman is 10% of the whole amount.
$7500 is the number I am asking for assistance with. If anyone can help with this bond amount and have a little faith in my husband and help to keep our family together over an unlawful situation with probation and parole, it would really give us a fighting chance. If a probation or parolee can be released or have freedom during a revocation process it is more likely for the judge not to follow through with incarceration or recommendations of the PO. Being free of incarceration will give him a chance to get his mental health straightened out and hopefully find the right medications to lessen symptoms of his issues. It would give him a chance to redeem himself and prove his probation officer’s allegations to be wrong and out of his character.
