Hard working first generation college student drowning in student loan debt

MINNESOTA / Posted 5 hours ago by 301407 / New

Hi Everyone,

My name is Stacy a 29 years old from Minneapolis. Growing up college really wasn’t in my future because I just knew I couldn’t afford it. As I went through high school I learned I really did want to pursue an education to better myself and break the cycle and be the first generation college student. I knew the only option would to be paying for school and everything in my own. After four years of school I’ve accumulated $50,000 in student loan debt that I am trying hard to pay off. I have a full time job but unfortunately with interest rates I just can’t seem to make progress on the loans. I recently lost my sister to cancer at the age of 31 and now spend my free time assisting her husband in raising their 5 year old daughter. I planned to get a second job to help but unfortunately my free time is now fulfilled. I appreciate you reading my story and hope you feel inspired to help me get my financial freedom in order.
