I am currently living in Sri Lanka, and I share my home with 8 rescued cats and one disabled dog. Each one of them was saved from the streets and has become a part of my family.
Recently, I rescued a dog named Kikki who is suffering from distemper, cancer, and kidney failure. In addition to Kikki, I also care for three cats with kidney failure. They all require daily saline treatments to survive. At the moment, I must provide three saline bottles every day, which cost Rs. 225 each. Kikki also needs hormone injections to help raise her blood count, along with her daily saline bottle.
I live in a rented house and pay Rs. 25,000 monthly. I only have a part-time job, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to cover all the costs. I also frequently need to take Kikki to the vet, but transportation is a challenge. Most tuk-tuk drivers in Sri Lanka refuse to carry street animals due to misconceptions about their hygiene, so I often have to beg or pay extra just to get her to her appointments.
One of my blind cats has a hole in his mouth and cannot eat solid food or drink water properly, as everything goes through his nose. I must feed him with soft, nutritious food like boiled fish, which adds to the daily expenses.
On top of all this, I am still waiting to get proper medical treatment for my heart patient cat Mia, as well as a kidney scan for my blind cat Sse. Sadly, I am unable to proceed due to a lack of funds.
Despite these challenges, I do my very best to give these innocent animals the love and care they never received before. They deserve a second chance, and I am committed to giving them that. However, to continue this journey, I need financial support.
Even $1 can make a huge difference right now—it can be a lifeline. If you are able to help, I will be more than happy to provide veterinary bills, blood reports, or any documentation you may need.
Please consider extending your kind hand to help save their lives.
