This is a big ask, but it’s coming from a place of love and Christmas spirit. I’ve been helping a young single mom of five, not just during the holidays but all year round. She’s a wonderful mother and a hardworking woman, but right now she’s facing something no family should have to face — she and her children are at risk of being evicted if their rent isn’t paid by December 15th.
Her rent past due is $888, and it increases by $5 every day. I’m giving $600 to help her, and she still needs $288 to keep her home. She fell behind because of high daycare expenses and losing hours at work for a couple weeks — nothing careless, just life happening.
This mom doesn’t ask for much. She just needs a little help to get through this moment, the same way any of us might someday. I’m praying for a Christmas miracle so her children don’t have to face being out on the street right before Christmas.
