If you are reading this I want to thank you for your time and consideration. Long story short… I was in an accident, crushed majority of my facial bones/teeth, went through 19 mos. of surgeries and reconstructive/restorative/palliative care. I ran into complications that ultimately created numerous health issues that significantly prolonged my recovery and even though I applied for disability at the time knowing I was going to need help for 12+ months (that was two years ago) I am at the end stage (hearing process) but now I am just about recovered as fully as I can expect, I will never be the same but I still have some fight in me. So it seems unfortunate that help takes so long when you urgently need it and you qualify at the time to where now you don’t qualify and you are losing everything you worked so hard for. I am currently losing my house, possibly my vehicle, which is all I have left as it is. My spouse left, it was a tough way to find out that our commitment to each other was only conditional but that’s another story. So, needless to say this is the first time in my life I have ever asked for help or applied for any assistance in my 52 years, I have always worked and supported myself and my family so this has been very tough to say the least. I am used to giving of myself and financially never anticipating being on the other side. So this is the chapter I am on now and needing guidance/direction. I have been blessed to have an opportunity to acquire an existing business that has proven to be very profitable over the past 16 years (slight decline during 2020-2021, covid, but still profited). Here is my dilema, I did not have health insurance when my accident happened and my surgeries couldn’t wait so I had to max out my credit cards (over 200K) before I was able to receive medical coverage through DES, so my 830 credit score quickly fell below 600. I am working with the SBA for funding but still falling short credit wise and I fear I won’t get funding in time to cover the inventory needed to open the doors the first of November. I have a detailed business plan outlining everything needed to finalize the transaction and stock the store to even be able to open. The previous owners had a closeout sale and basically cleaned house, I can’t open up a store with nothing to sale, plus some renovations needed due to safety concerns but those are minor yet necessary. We have great plans to create more opportunities for additional sales (online store, memberships, yearly events) these are all explained in the business plan but we are sticking to the core fundamentals that created the success in the first place. So I am looking for grants and or loans that will consider the hardship vs credit score alone. This is my chance to rediscover my purpose, plus keep six other individuals employed along with opening up 3 possibly 4 other jobs. So if anyone is interested in sharing some helpful information on securing funding, I would be extremely grateful, I may be too late to save my house but at least I will have an opportunity to rebuild my life and become self sufficient once again and back to being the one extending the help, that’s what makes my heart happy. Again, thank you for the platform to post and I am hopeful someone out there has the potential to make this a very needed reality for me.
