#ProudMomMoment
The last few months of this year have compiled numerous hardships: managing my son’s health crisis and SMI diagnosis, multiple court cases, a wage dispute, and a recent car accident have all left our family struggling. Financially, I am unable to purchase Christmas gifts this year.
But through it all, my daughters, Z (21) and R (16), have given me my proudest mom moment of 2023. They have shown stunning selflessness, with Z taking on a second job and both working to help without me even realizing their intent.
We have covered immediate needs, but Christmas is here, and rent follows immediately after. It will take a miracle and zero spending to make it all work.
The spirit is here, though. We didn’t miss it. We pulled out old arts and crafts and lit up with Christmas tunes. My main wish is to give them back some joy—the “kid stuff” they are currently being robbed of—and create some positive memories amidst the struggles.
We could all use a positive surprise right now. If you’re in a position to help spread some unexpected Christmas cheer to a family facing tough times, we would be incredibly grateful for any form of surprise or assistance.
Happy Holidays,
Sincerely, one proud mom 🤱
