Recent 4.0 graduate and mom of 2: Seeking a bridge for rent/food until Jan 6th
I am reaching out for help with rent and groceries. I am a mother of two (ages 9 and 5) and my husband is currently away, but he will be back on January 6th to rejoin our unit.
I want to be clear that I am not just waiting for a handout. I am actively fighting through the paperwork mountains of the DES system to secure our stability. This past year, I survived a major health crisis that nearly took my life, but I didn’t let that stop me. I’ve spent my recovery focused on my family and my future; I actually just graduated college on December 12th with a 4.0 GPA in Addiction and Substance Use Disorders. I am still here because I have work to do for my children and my King Jesus.
Getting to resources is a major hurdle right now because my vehicle is out of commission with a broken rear differential and tire. I am doing everything I can from home to keep our heads above water, but we have hit a gap in income that we just can’t bridge on our own this month. Graduation was a huge milestone, but being in this “in-between” stage while my husband is away has left us vulnerable for these last few weeks.
If you can help with a portion of rent or a grocery gift card, you aren’t just paying a bill—you are providing a remedy and a bridge for a family that is 15 days away from being whole again. Thank you for seeing us.
