Hello, my name is Brittany, and I am humbly asking for help during one of the hardest moments of my life. My boyfriend, Corey, and I are facing imminent eviction, loss of transportation, and lack of basic necessities due to a combination of severe medical hardship and an unexpected loss of income.

In October 2023, I was in a major car accident that caused significant injuries, including T11–T12 spinal compression fractures, a concussion, PTSD, cervicalgia, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, and chronic low back pain. The accident caused a 25% loss of height on the right side of my body. I must wear a TLSO back brace daily and use a cane to walk. Because of these injuries, I was unable to return to work, and although I requested medical accommodations, my employer denied them. I was officially terminated in January 2024.

Since losing my job, Corey has been our only source of income through Uber, Lyft, and Uber Eats. We have been trying our best to stay afloat, but on November 10, 2025, our only vehicle was illegally repossessed without any notice from the dealership. This immediately eliminated our only income and our only transportation. We have filed complaints with multiple agencies, but the dealership has provided conflicting and inaccurate information, delaying any resolution.

Without the vehicle, Corey cannot work, and we have no income for rent, food, toiletries, or transportation to my medical appointments. I also recently had to withdraw from my online university program because my financial aid was significantly reduced.

I have applied for disability (initial application November 2023, denial in October 2024) and continue to apply for jobs that can accommodate my physical limitations. I have contacted 211 multiple times, and the housing authority in my county, but there are no available rental assistance programs for individuals without children or elderly household members. We are now behind on rent and facing eviction.

We have very little support. Corey’s brother is the only family helping us. Earlier this year, we also faced the unexpected loss of my father-in-law, and we had to cover the cremation costs ourselves, which deeply strained us financially.

At this moment, we are in urgent need of help with:

• A rental car so Corey can return to working for Lyft and Uber

• Rental assistance to avoid eviction

• Food boxes or meal assistance

• Basic toiletries, including soap, deodorant, toothpaste, and menstrual pads

I am deeply grateful for anyone who can help us in any way. Even the smallest act of kindness—food, toiletries, or assistance with transportation—would make a life-changing difference right now. We are doing everything in our power to get back on our feet, and we truly need the compassion of others to get through this moment.
