Mother Caring for Seriously Ill Son Seeking Urgent Housing and Essential Living Assistance
I am a mother reaching out with openness that someone may be in a position to help my family through an incredibly difficult chapter of our lives.
My 31-year-old son is battling a severe, widespread infection that has left him physically debilitated, with open, draining wounds, significant weight loss, and recurring fainting episodes. Despite treatment and consultations with multiple physicians, his condition remains serious. I am his sole caregiver, providing around-the-clock assistance because he cannot safely be left alone.
In July, while taking my son to a medical appointment, another vehicle sideswiped us, resulting in injuries that required my hospitalization. I am still recovering from neurological injuries and undergoing physical and occupational therapy. What was already a challenging situation became even more difficult as I found myself trying to recover physically while continuing to care for my son’s serious medical needs.
Before these circumstances, I built a successful career as an Executive Chef, hospitality leader, and culinary educator. I have always worked hard to provide for my family, but the combination of my son’s medical condition, my own injuries, and the demands of caregiving has made maintaining employment outside our home impossible. My financial resources have been exhausted while doing everything I can to keep us safe and cared for.
I am seeking assistance with rent, utilities, groceries, wound-care supplies, essential vehicle repairs, and other basic living necessities. Maintaining stable housing and a clean, safe environment is especially important given my son’s medical condition and ongoing care requirements.
Any financial assistance, essential supplies, or continued support would help us maintain stability while I continue my recovery, care for my son, and work toward rebuilding our financial security. I am actively pursuing remote employment opportunities that would allow me to provide for my family while remaining available for his care.
I have spent much of my life working, providing, and caring for others. Reaching out for assistance is not something I take lightly, but I recognize that sometimes getting through a difficult season requires the kindness and generosity of others.
Whether you are able to help with one immediate need or offer ongoing assistance, your support would make a meaningful difference for my family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and consider extending a helping hand.
