Assistance to in repairing my vehicle
WASHINGTON / by 940336 / New
Hello 🙂 – I was lucky enough to be able to buy a used vehicle in June after saving and saving and (ugh) saving. It all seemed well. The next morning after I bought it I started it up and there was this high pitched squeal. It lasted four or five minutes and went away after it warmed up it lasts all day, non noise, but every morning, same thing). The man I bought it from did a sneaky thing and warmed it up before I got there. After researching, I found it is a vacuum leak coming from the top of the engine (on the back of the top part (cover??) of the motor). You can hear it whine at the spot. My understanding is you have to buy the whole top cover. It has progressed to squealing every time I start it (but if I turn it off and start it again it usually, not every time, but usually stops it.
Also :(, the front drivers side wheel started a squeak that got faster and faster as the wheel rotated. Researching that…a wheel bearing. Thats the one that really worries me because I’m told it can freeze your wheel at any time and can cause a serious accident. I only drive the barest minimum I possibly have to.
I realize that I am lucky to even have a car because buses dont go all places and time and of course how much easier it has been since I got it. I would appreciate it if anybody could help fix it with their time or help me pay for it at a mechanic’s shop. Even if you are able to fix only one of the problems would be super cool of you. I am financially strapped on a regular basis with the cost of everything. I dont want it to turn into an expensive (and very heavy) paperweight… Thank you for considering my need.
Respectfully,
Myself (I just realized I cannot leave my name)
