Hoping for a Little Thanksgiving and Christmas Blessing for Our Family ❤️
I’m reaching out with a humble heart because this year has been incredibly difficult for our family, and I’m hoping to find a little kindness and help during the holidays.
My husband Tony is battling a rare and serious cancer. Between his treatments, his inability to maintain his normal income, and the financial strain that cancer has placed on our household, we’ve fallen behind on bills. Whatever money we have coming in is going toward catching up on past-due bills and keeping our household running.
I am also the sole caregiver for Tony’s mom, Tony’s aunt, and our daughter with autism. We have no outside family support to help us carry these responsibilities.
There are six adults in our household: Tony and me, our 25-year-old, our 19-year-old daughter with special needs, and two senior women, ages 72 and 68.
I spend so much of my time making sure everyone else is taken care of, and right now we’re having a hard time making the holidays happen.
I’m hoping for a little assistance with:
Thanksgiving:
- Groceries or grocery gift cards to help us put together a Thanksgiving meal.
- Help with the basics to make a nice holiday dinner for everyone.
Christmas:
- Gift cards or help with modest Christmas presents.
- A little something special so everyone in our household has something to open and can feel some of the happiness Christmas is supposed to bring.
We’re all older, and I know our needs may look a little different from other families, but that doesn’t mean Christmas doesn’t matter to us. It would mean so much to be able to share a little holiday happiness together despite everything we’ve been through.
I’m not asking for anything extravagant. Just a little help with food and the opportunity to make Thanksgiving and Christmas feel special for our family.
Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me. I’ve always tried to take care of the people who depend on me, but this year has brought more than we can manage alone.
If you are able to help, we would be incredibly grateful. If you aren’t in a position to give, a kind thought, prayer, or share means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. After such a difficult year, we’re simply hoping for a little kindness and a reason to smile this holiday season.
Wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving and a Christmas filled with love. ❤️
