Uninhabitable apartment help

CALIFORNIA / Posted 2 hours ago by 879465 / New

Hello,

I am a veteran and I need your help.

This year has been extremely difficult on my family. Our apartment had a leak in the ceiling in our front room and bathroom that left us homeless. It started out as them doing remediation and within 2 days of them working, we were called and told our apartment was uninhabitable and we could not move back in. Our only choice was to move. We left our apartment thinking we would be able to return within 2 weeks and that wasn’t the case. We only packed enough to last us for that time frame. Everything was left in the apartment because we thought we would be coming back. So now we went from 2 week remediation, to homeless, to them saying we could not go in the apartment to get anything until the remediation team did a pack out that involved them checking our things for mold. Our things sat in that apartment for 1month 14days.
I am a disabled veteran and my wife is sickly too. We had to figure out weekly where we would stay etc. I have four boys as well that had to go to school still and this was a lot.
when remediation team moved our stuff out the apartment, we lost 75percent of our things. Beds, couches, vacuums, and etc had to be tossed in the trash.
‘Then we were still waiting for our apartment complex to flip a unit to move us into. We just signed our lease 11/1/2026 and we basically have to start over. And now we are going into the holiday season.
My family would appreciate anything that anyone can help with.

Here are somethings we need:

Towels

knife set

vaccum cleaner

sheets

couch

dining table and chairs

dog beds

shower curtains

toothbrush holder

rugs

bath mat

pots and pans

bedding

twin beds

whatever you can do at this point my family will truly appreciate.

Thanks
